Dr. Stephanie Hutchinson is a musician and writer based in Los Angeles. Her hymns and songs are sung by congregations in the US, England, Canada, and Japan.

She has introduced her original hymns (text and tune) at Hymn-Sings in churches in California, New Jersey, Washington state and Hawaii. To inquire about hosting a Hymn-Sing or having Dr. Stephanie play/introduce her music at your church, please see the Contact page.

Two of her hymns were translated into Mandarin and distributed to churches in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Also, a UCLA dance major choreographed "God is the Singer" into a ballet.

The Concert Singers of Westchester, CA, presented the world premiere of her Christmas carol "While Tending Sheep That Cold, Clear Night" (available on Amazon). A YouTube video is here. Sheet music is available on the Sheet Music page.

Reformation Lutheran in Westminster, CA commissioned Dr. Hutchinson to write a Christmas cantata, THE BIRTH OF CHRIST: PROPHETIC PRONOUNCEMENTS AND ANGELIC ANNOUNCEMENTS, and hosted its world premiere. The Cantata includes a 4-part script featuring a spoken word choral piece, WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, THE PRINCE OF PEACE (think “Hamilton”), a script entitled “The Annunciation,” featuring different languages spoken in the congregation, a piano solo performed by Dr. Hutchinson (“O Holy Night,”) and a choral piece entitled WHILE TENDING SHEEP THAT COLD, CLEAR NIGHT.

The church was so pleased with the Cantata that they commissioned another spoken-word piece, for Easter. HALLELUJAH CHORUS II for SATB choir and drum had Its world premiere at Reformation Lutheran on Easter 2017. They commissioned a second Easter song, FAITHFUL AND TRUE, a 2-part chorus for men and women (it can also be done unison).

Each has piano accompaniment, guitar chords, and flute descant.

Colleen Cronin, Music Director of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Westchester, CA, has used "A Trilogy of Hymns” on several occasions. She writes:

"Everyone loved it. It is about God is the poet and the artist; we are the poem and the works of art, etc. I used it on Music Ministry Sunday to great success. It is a unison hymn (or anthem) from her published Trilogy of hymns, with beautiful piano accompaniment, easy and very short (under 2 minutes)."
